Everything else UnityZM builds is bought by an organisation. Zedi is not. It is how one person — a creator, a trader, anyone with a phone — joins the same rail the banks and the businesses are on.

What it costs

Nothing to join

What you need

A phone and an authenticator app

Joining

A phone number and one code.

There is no password and no email address. You enrol a phone number against an authenticator app, confirm a single six-digit code, and the account exists.

That choice is deliberate. Passwords are the thing people lose, reuse and get phished out of, and an email address is a second account somebody has to already have. The secret crosses once, at enrolment, shown on screen for you to copy into the app; after that the handset works out each code by itself. The code is the only thing that travels, and it is good for the moment it is shown and no longer.

You are given recovery codes at enrolment. They are shown once. Keep them somewhere that is not the phone — they are how you get back in if the handset is lost.

The wallet

AI credits you can see the bottom of.

A credit wallet comes with the account, and there are free credits to claim when you join.

AI work on the platform is metered against that wallet rather than bundled into a subscription. The reason is honesty about cost: inference is a real, variable expense, and a plan that hides it either overcharges the light user or quietly throttles the heavy one. A balance you can watch go down is worse marketing and better information.

What the wallet does

  • Holds a credit balance against your account
  • Meters AI work as you use it
  • Free credits claimable on joining
  • Three showcase ads a day included

Not yet

  • A standalone wallet screen — today the balance is shown in the join flow
  • Topping the wallet up from a mobile-money wallet
  • Transferring credits between accounts

Reach

Three showcase ads a day.

A Zedi account can put three showcase ads a day in front of people already on the rail.

The cap is the point. A feed anybody can flood is a feed nobody reads, and the daily limit costs a serious seller nothing while making a spam run pointless. What you post is seen by people who are already transacting on the platform, which is a smaller audience than a social network and a considerably more useful one.

Being straight about it

Where Zedi actually is.

The join flow, the authenticator enrolment, the credit wallet and the free-credit claim are built and running. You can go and use them now.

What is not finished: Zedi does not yet have its own signed-in home. Today you meet the wallet inside the join flow rather than at a screen of your own, and topping the wallet up from mobile money is not wired. Both are next, and we would rather say so here than have you find out after signing up.
